How do I enable LinguaKey as my keyboard?

Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and select LinguaKey. Then tap LinguaKey in the list and enable Allow Full Access for all features to work.

Is my text data private?

Yes. When using on-device AI (the default), all text processing happens entirely on your iPhone. No text is sent anywhere. We have no servers and collect no data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What is "Full Access" and why does LinguaKey need it?

Full Access is an iOS permission required for features like dictation (speech-to-text) and cloud AI (if you use your own API key). Without Full Access, all core features still work — grammar fix, translate, shorten, and Ask AI with on-device models.

How do I use Ask AI?

Type your text, then add // followed by your instruction. For example: Hello world // make it formal. Then tap the Ask AI button. You can also use the Suggestions or Dictation tabs for hands-free input.

What's included in the free tier?

The free tier includes unlimited grammar fix, translate, and shorten — all powered by on-device AI. You also get 5 Ask AI requests per day and up to 2 custom actions. No account required.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone to manage or cancel. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open LinguaKey → Settings → Pro Plans → Restore Purchases. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID and will be restored automatically.

The keyboard isn't appearing in some apps

Some apps restrict third-party keyboards (e.g., password fields, banking apps). This is an iOS security feature and cannot be overridden. LinguaKey works in most text fields including Messages, Notes, Mail, Safari, and social media apps.
